1. Scope & Overview

Welcome to BlueBuzzer LLC ("BlueBuzzer," "we," "us," or "our"). This Policy applies to personal data collected in connection with the BlueBuzzer website at https://bluebuzzer.com, BlueBuzzer mobile applications for iOS and Android, and related services, features, communications, support systems, and programs (collectively, the "Services").

This notice applies to riders/passengers, drivers, applicants, guest users, business-account users, referral participants, and other people whose personal data is processed in connection with BlueBuzzer Services. It also covers people who begin but do not complete a driver application or identity-verification process.

BlueBuzzer operates Services in the jurisdictions where it is authorized to operate. Some BlueBuzzer apps may be available through international app stores even where BlueBuzzer does not provide transportation services in every country. International registration may be used, for example, by travelers who plan to use BlueBuzzer in a supported service area.

Dominican Republic identity verification. BlueBuzzer may collect an identity document and selfie to help verify rider identity, prevent fraud, protect drivers and riders, and support safety investigations. This information is intended for authorized BlueBuzzer personnel and is not displayed to drivers solely because it was submitted for identity verification.

Data controller

BlueBuzzer LLC is the controller responsible for personal data collected in connection with the BlueBuzzer Services, except where applicable law or a separate notice provides otherwise.

2. Information We Collect

BlueBuzzer may collect personal data that you provide, data created when you use our Services, and data received from other sources.

A. Information you provide directly

  • Registration and account information: name, email address, phone number, login credentials, address, age or date-of-birth information where required, country, language, gender, or similar account information.
  • Profile information: profile photo, preferred pronouns where offered, account preferences, saved locations, payment preferences, and user settings.
  • Driver and vehicle information: driver’s license, government identification, vehicle details, registration, insurance, inspection or eligibility documents, banking or payout information, emergency contact information, and other information needed to evaluate driver eligibility.
  • Identity verification: identification documents, selfies, document photos, and related verification information.
  • Background or eligibility information: where permitted by law, driving history, license status, criminal-history or background-check results, known aliases, prior addresses, right-to-work or eligibility information, and sanctions or identity-screening results supplied by authorized vendors or public sources.
  • User content and support information: support requests, chat messages, ratings, compliments, feedback, photographs, documents, audio/video materials voluntarily submitted in connection with support or safety matters, and metadata relating to communications.
  • Safety recordings: where available and permitted by law, users may create audio/video safety recordings using an in-app feature or an external device such as a dashcam. Recordings submitted to BlueBuzzer for a safety or support matter may be processed to investigate the incident.
  • Referral and business information: referral codes, business-account details, partner attribution information, and information submitted in connection with BlueBuzzer for Business or promotional programs.

B. Information collected automatically

  • Device information: device model, IP address, operating system and version, app version, browser type, preferred language, mobile network data, device or app-instance identifiers, advertising identifiers where permitted, and similar technical information.
  • Usage information: access dates and times, pages and screens viewed, features used, system activity, crash logs, diagnostic data, and interactions with our Services.
  • Location information: precise or approximate GPS location, subject to device permissions and the purpose for which the location is needed.
  • Communication metadata: date, time, routing information, call or message metadata, and other technical information used to enable rider-driver communications and provide support.

C. Information from other sources

We may receive information from other users, account owners, referral participants, business partners, payment providers, social-media or advertising platforms, identity and background-check vendors, insurers, vehicle or financial-services providers, partner transportation companies, public sources, professional advisers, and governmental or law-enforcement authorities where lawful.

3. Location & Trip Data

BlueBuzzer may collect precise or approximate location data from drivers and riders to provide pickup and drop-off functionality, calculate ETAs and routes, track trips, support live-location and safety features, prevent fraud, investigate incidents, comply with legal requirements, and provide customer support.

Drivers

Driver location may be collected while the BlueBuzzer Driver app is in the foreground and, where enabled and permitted, in the background when needed for trip status, dispatch, navigation, driver availability, trip tracking, or safety-related functions.

Riders

Rider location may be collected from the time a trip is requested through completion and while location-dependent features are active. Depending on your device settings, you may be able to use certain BlueBuzzer features without granting precise location access by entering an address manually; however, disabling location may reduce or prevent some functionality.

Location collected from a driver during a trip may be associated with the corresponding rider’s trip record for purposes such as receipts, customer support, fraud prevention, insurance, claims, safety investigations, and litigation—even if the rider has disabled collection of precise device location.

Precise geolocation is not sold. BlueBuzzer does not sell precise geolocation data. Location is used and disclosed only as described in this Policy and as permitted or required by law.

4. Payments & Transactions

BlueBuzzer collects transaction information associated with use of the Services, including the type of service requested or provided, booking details, pickup and drop-off information, date and time, distance, fare or order amount, tips, refunds, credits, promotions, payment method, transaction status, and related financial records.

Payment processing is provided through third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Depending on the payment method, Stripe or another payment processor may receive card data, billing information, device signals, authentication details, and fraud-prevention information. BlueBuzzer may retain payment tokens, transaction references, limited card metadata, and transaction history as permitted by the provider and applicable law; we do not need to store full raw card numbers in order to process payments through tokenized payment systems.

5. How We Use Personal Data

BlueBuzzer uses personal data to provide reliable transportation and related Services and for the following purposes:

  • Create, authenticate, update, and maintain rider, driver, business, and related accounts.
  • Facilitate bookings, rider-driver matching, dispatch, route planning, navigation, pickup, trip tracking, scheduled services, and related fulfillment.
  • Process payments, payouts, refunds, credits, promotions, cancellation fees, and transaction records.
  • Verify identity and driver eligibility and, where lawful, conduct or receive background-check and compliance results.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, unsafe behavior, account abuse, unauthorized access, policy violations, and other harmful activity.
  • Provide customer support, investigate disputes or safety reports, recover lost items, and improve support processes.
  • Enable communications between riders, drivers, recipients, businesses, and BlueBuzzer, including in-app chat, masked or routed calling, SMS, email, and push notifications.
  • Send receipts, booking confirmations, trip updates, driver-arrival notices, account notices, security alerts, policy updates, and other non-marketing communications.
  • Improve, test, analyze, troubleshoot, and develop our apps, websites, safety systems, pricing systems, features, and Services, including research, analytics, and machine-learning uses where appropriate.
  • Personalize the user experience, such as saved preferences, prior-trip information, location suggestions, rewards, or relevant service recommendations.
  • Market BlueBuzzer Services, promotions, features, surveys, events, and offers, subject to applicable law and user choices.
  • Comply with legal obligations, regulatory requirements, insurance requirements, licenses, lawful governmental requests, court orders, and legal proceedings.

6. Pricing & Automated Processing

BlueBuzzer may use automated systems to support pricing, matching, fraud detection, safety, account security, eligibility review, and other operational decisions. For rides, pricing may consider factors such as estimated distance and time, predicted route, service type, timing, location, demand, availability, applicable pricing rules, promotions, fees, and other disclosed factors.

Automated systems may also flag suspicious activity, potentially fraudulent documents, referral abuse, unsafe behavior, account anomalies, or transaction risks for further review. Where required by applicable law, BlueBuzzer will provide human review, appeal, or other rights relating to decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

User ratings and reported incidents may be used to encourage compliance with BlueBuzzer policies, improve matching quality, and support safety decisions. In jurisdictions where required, account deactivation or comparable significant action is subject to review and/or an available appeal process.

7. How We Share Information

BlueBuzzer shares personal data only as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including:

A. With other users

  • Drivers may receive a rider’s name, rating where used, pickup and drop-off locations, trip notes, and other information reasonably necessary to complete a trip.
  • Riders may receive a driver’s name, photo, rating, vehicle make/model/color, license plate, vehicle photo where available, live or approximate trip location, and other trip-related information.
  • Trip receipts may include fare details, route information, and limited information identifying the driver or service provider.
  • When a user asks us to share an ETA, live location, trip detail, split-fare information, or similar data with another person, we share that information at the user’s request.

B. Guest users, account owners, and business partners

If a trip or service is requested using an account owned by another person, employer, business, family organizer, or partner, relevant trip, billing, and location information may be accessible to that account owner or partner as needed to administer the service. For guest users whose trip is arranged by another account holder or partner, BlueBuzzer may use and share information as necessary to provide the requested service, support safety and security, provide customer support, enable communications, conduct research and development, and address legal requirements.

C. With service providers and professional advisers

We may disclose information to processors and vendors that provide payments, communications, cloud hosting, mapping, analytics, identity verification, background screening, security, insurance, email delivery, customer support, marketing measurement, legal, accounting, consulting, or similar services on our behalf.

D. Emergency services, public submissions, and referrals

Where a safety feature is used and permitted by law, BlueBuzzer may share information such as location, trip details, vehicle information, rider or driver contact information, and pickup/drop-off information with police, fire, ambulance, or other emergency services. Information voluntarily posted to public BlueBuzzer forums, blogs, reviews, or social-media pages may be visible to the public. If you participate in a referral program, BlueBuzzer may share limited referral-status information, such as whether qualifying activity occurred, when needed to administer the referral program.

E. For safety, legal reasons, disputes, or corporate transactions

We may disclose personal data when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, operating requirement, or governmental request; to enforce our agreements; to investigate or respond to claims or disputes; to protect BlueBuzzer, users, or the public; or in connection with a merger, financing, restructuring, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business or assets.

F. With consent

We may share personal data in other circumstances after giving appropriate notice and obtaining consent where required.

No sale of personal information. BlueBuzzer does not sell users’ personal information to third parties for monetary consideration. We also do not sell precise geolocation data.

8. Service Providers & Technologies

BlueBuzzer uses third-party technology providers to operate important parts of the Services. Examples include:

Stripe — Payments Processes payments and may receive payment information and device signals used for fraud prevention, authentication, compliance, and Stripe Radar.
Twilio — Voice & Communications May receive phone, call-routing, device, or app-instance information needed to enable SMS or in-app calling and related communications.
Expo — Push Notifications May receive app-instance push tokens and related technical information needed to deliver notifications.
Google Maps / Mapping Services Mapping services may process location, route, place-search, device, and usage information necessary to provide maps, geocoding, navigation, and related location features.

We may also use hosting providers, analytics providers, email-delivery vendors, customer-support vendors, background-check or identity-verification vendors, advertising platforms, insurers, accountants, lawyers, and other professional or operational providers.

Device identifiers and push tokens

BlueBuzzer applications may collect and transmit device or app-instance identifiers to power core functionality such as push notifications, in-app calling, payment security, and fraud prevention. These identifiers are transmitted over encrypted connections and are used to provide app functionality, security, and fraud-prevention services. BlueBuzzer does not sell this data.

9. Cookies & Advertising

BlueBuzzer and its partners may use cookies, SDKs, tags, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies on websites, apps, emails, and advertising for purposes such as authentication, remembering preferences, measuring content and campaign performance, analyzing traffic and usage, detecting fraud, and understanding how users interact with our Services.

Where permitted, BlueBuzzer may use information such as hashed email addresses, device or user identifiers, general or precise location as permitted, and usage information with advertising or measurement platforms to personalize or measure BlueBuzzer advertising. Examples may include platforms such as Meta/Facebook and TikTok. We do not permit those disclosures to override rights provided by applicable privacy law.

Users may opt out of certain marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in the message and may control push, device, advertising, or location permissions through applicable app or device settings. Transactional, security, trip, and account communications may still be sent when necessary to provide the Services.

10. Retention & Account Deletion

BlueBuzzer retains personal data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. Retention periods vary based on the category of data, the type of account, the reason the data was collected, safety and fraud-prevention needs, transaction and tax requirements, dispute or claim status, insurance needs, and applicable legal or regulatory obligations.

Users may request deletion of an account through available in-app account settings, including a "Delete my account" option where provided, or by contacting BlueBuzzer through https://bluebuzzer.com/contact or privacy@bluebuzzer.com.

After a verified deletion request, BlueBuzzer will delete or de-identify account data unless retention is required or permitted for legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, safety, security, fraud-prevention, insurance, chargeback, dispute, litigation, or similar legitimate purposes. Driver records may need to be retained for longer periods because transportation, tax, insurance, and regulatory obligations can apply after the driver relationship ends. Where no exception applies, rider data is targeted for deletion within a reasonable period after verification of the deletion request.

Deletion is not always immediate or absolute. A deletion request does not require BlueBuzzer to erase records that it must or is permitted to retain under applicable law or for legitimate safety, fraud, transaction, dispute, tax, insurance, or security purposes.

11. Security

BlueBuzzer uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse. Safeguards may include HTTPS/TLS transport encryption, access controls, authentication, secure server configuration, logging, fraud monitoring, vendor controls, and tokenized payment processing through payment providers such as Stripe.

BlueBuzzer mobile apps use token-based authentication. The apps may use local app storage, including AsyncStorage, for session or application state. Local device storage by itself should not be understood as a guarantee that every stored value is encrypted; BlueBuzzer’s security model also relies on server-side authentication, transport security, access controls, and limiting what sensitive information is stored locally.

No website, mobile application, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Users should protect account credentials, use secure devices, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have rights that include:

  • Confirming whether BlueBuzzer processes your personal data.
  • Accessing personal data associated with your account.
  • Correcting inaccuracies in personal data.
  • Requesting deletion of personal data, subject to lawful exceptions.
  • Obtaining a portable copy of certain personal data.
  • Opting out of certain targeted advertising, sales of personal data, or qualifying profiling where applicable.
  • Withdrawing consent where processing depends on consent.
  • Opting out of certain marketing communications.
  • Requesting restriction or objecting to certain processing where applicable law provides that right.

Privacy settings and device permissions

Mobile platforms such as iOS and Android provide controls for location, camera, photo library, microphone, Bluetooth, notifications, and other permissions. BlueBuzzer features that depend on a permission may be limited when that permission is disabled. Where available in the app, privacy settings may also allow users to control live-location sharing, emergency-data sharing, and promotional notifications.

Ratings and transparency

Riders and drivers may be able to rate one another after a trip. Ratings may be associated with a user account and displayed to other users where the feature is available. BlueBuzzer may use ratings and feedback for quality, safety, support, and account-management purposes.

How to submit a privacy request

Email privacy@bluebuzzer.com or use our contact page. Please describe the request and provide enough information for us to verify the request and locate the relevant account. BlueBuzzer will not require you to create a new account solely to submit a privacy request, although we may ask you to authenticate an existing account or verify identity before acting on a request.

Virginia residents

If the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act applies to a request, eligible Virginia consumers may have rights to confirm processing, access data, correct inaccuracies, delete qualifying personal data, obtain a copy of qualifying data, and opt out of certain targeted advertising, sale, or qualifying profiling. BlueBuzzer will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable statutory privacy rights.

Appeals

If BlueBuzzer denies a privacy request and applicable law gives you a right to appeal, reply to the denial or email privacy@bluebuzzer.com with the subject line Privacy Request Appeal. Include enough information to identify the original request. We will review the appeal and respond as required by applicable law.

13. Children’s Privacy

BlueBuzzer transportation Services are not intended for individuals under 18 to independently create and use accounts unless a specific BlueBuzzer service, account type, or lawful arrangement expressly permits otherwise. BlueBuzzer does not knowingly collect personal data from children in violation of applicable law.

If BlueBuzzer learns that personal data of a child was collected in circumstances requiring parental consent or other protections that were not satisfied, we will take reasonable steps to investigate and address the information consistent with applicable law.

14. International Data Transfers

BlueBuzzer operates and processes personal data across jurisdictions. If you are outside the United States, including when using BlueBuzzer in the Dominican Republic, information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where BlueBuzzer or its service providers operate. Privacy and data-protection laws in those countries may differ from those in your home jurisdiction.

BlueBuzzer uses such transfers to provide the Services, perform agreements with users, support payments and communications, operate technology infrastructure, provide customer support, maintain safety and security, and meet legal obligations, subject to applicable law.

15. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, technology, legal requirements, or privacy practices. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the BlueBuzzer apps, website, email, or another appropriate method. We encourage users to review this Policy periodically.

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page identifies the most recent revision. Continued use of the Services after an update is subject to applicable law and any consent requirements that may apply.
